| | I'm flying out to Oregon next week to visit a lot of my family. Play golf, see some sights, maybe do some camping - stuff like that for the whole week. I'd be looking forward to it a whole lot more if this week weren't already so insane. I'm trying to pack away two weeks of reading and assignments of a 4 week class so next week I can live virtually homework free. Most of it's ok but it also means I have to find a classroom to teach in this week instead of next and most of the schools in San Diego are still in summer break. The solution will present itself in form or another but I'll be a lot happier (not to mention more sane) when everything is done.
Went and saw the Bourne Ultimatum last week. Pretty decent flick. I still can't buy Matt Damon as the action hero type but it was enjoyable. Afterwards we went for boba when I almost killed Kyle by admitting "I love the taste of balls in my mouth" while he was drinking. Clearly the best part of the night was all of us just sitting around the table, chilling, sharing stories and what not. It's nice to hang around a group where you can be sure no one is going to take anything you say personally.
On Thursday I played soccer for the first time in a million years. It was going pretty good till I volunteered to play goalie. Then I got my ass raped for 4 goals in like 15 seconds. God do I suck. Seriously, I could barely see the ball whizzing by me into the goal. But I had a great time and got some good exercise (and that's the counts, right?). Kevin's work buddies make this a regular thing on Thursdays so I'm hoping to keep my work schedule clear enough so I can keep going out that and attempt to improve somewhat (or just continue having fun sucking). Have to admit though - I was pretty impressed by the other people's skills out there.
I got another A- in one of my credential classes. That's annoying but as long as my GPA is above 3.5 I can't complain. HAHA - I probably would have gotten an A if I hadn't spent so much time finishing Harry Potter that last week. My bad...(though I thought it was a really good book). |
